Donor Privacy

Mountain Mercy Ministries does not sell, rent, or trade donor information.

Donor names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, donation amounts, and giving history are not published or shared for another organization’s marketing purposes without the donor’s permission.

Donor information may be disclosed to service providers that help process donations, issue receipts, maintain records, or comply with legal obligations. Information may also be disclosed when required by law.

Donor identities contained in tax records will not be publicly disclosed except when disclosure is legally required.

Prayer Requests and Assistance Information

We treat prayer requests and information concerning charitable needs with care and limit access to persons who reasonably need the information for ministry purposes.

Submitting a prayer or assistance request does not create a confidential professional relationship, such as an attorney-client, doctor-patient, therapist-client, or clergy-penitent relationship.

We will not publicly share an identifiable prayer request, assistance story, photograph, or testimonial without appropriate permission, except when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect someone from serious harm.

Children’s Privacy

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.

Website forms must be submitted by an adult. A parent or legal guardian may provide information about a child when requesting charitable assistance or participating in a ministry program.

Children under 13 should not submit their names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, photographs, videos, or other personal information directly through this website.

If we learn that a child under 13 submitted personal information without appropriate parental permission, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Mountain Mercy Ministries will obtain written permission from a parent or legal guardian before intentionally publishing an identifiable child’s photograph, video, testimonial, or ministry story.

Sensitive Information

Do not submit Social Security numbers, banking credentials, complete payment-card information, government identification documents, passwords, detailed medical records, health-insurance information, or other highly sensitive information through an ordinary website form, social-media message, or regular email.

If sensitive information is reasonably necessary, Mountain Mercy Ministries will provide instructions for using an appropriate method.

Information Security

Mountain Mercy Ministries uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information. These measures may include restricted access, account-security controls, website-security tools, service-provider protections, and secure payment processing.

No website, email system, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a security incident involving protected personal information occurs, Mountain Mercy Ministries will investigate and provide notices required by applicable law.

Information Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to satisfy legal, accounting, tax, reporting, security, and ministry obligations.

Donation, allocation, restriction, tax-receipt, and refund records associated with Zeffy transactions may be retained for at least seven years.

Other information may be deleted or anonymized when it is no longer reasonably necessary, unless it must be retained because of a legal obligation, dispute, safety concern, investigation, or backup schedule.

Your Choices and Requests

You may contact Mountain Mercy Ministries to:

• Ask what personal information we maintain about you;

• Request correction of inaccurate information;

• Request deletion of information that we are not legally or operationally required to retain;

• Withdraw permission for future nonessential communications;

• Request removal of a photograph, testimonial, or ministry story from future use when reasonably practicable; or

• Ask questions about our privacy practices.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a privacy request. Some information cannot be deleted immediately when retention is required for tax, accounting, donation, fraud-prevention, safety, or other legal purposes.

You may unsubscribe from nonessential email communications by using an available unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Transactional messages concerning donations, receipts, assistance requests, or other active matters may still be sent when necessary.
